Burnside Farm, Heddon On the Wall, Northumberland – the source of the 2001 outbreak of foot and mouth disease
After graduating from the Documentary Photography course at Newport in 1987, Mark moved back to his native North-east. Since then, Mark has worked as a freelance editorial photographer specialising in news features, the visual arts and television documentary stills.
Regular commissioning clients have included The Guardian, Observer, Sunday Telegraph, Der Spiegel, Channel 4, The BBC, Arts Council North-east, The Big Issue, Take A Break. Current agency representation is through United National Photographers, and online agency Report Digital. Notable commissions have included documenting a Spencer Tunick event for the Baltic Gallery, Sir Thomas Allen’s production of Cosi Fan Tutte at the Sage Gateshead and documenting the building of Gormley’s Angel of the North for Gateshead Council.
