Leonardo Project

Residential summer school for talented and gifted children aged 11/12 from East Sussex. 85 children spend one week at Roedean School near Brighton on a wide variety of activities ranging from science to sport culminating in a dramatic performance forr 500 friends and family around the school grounds and buildings. The week was called the “Leonardo Project” taking the work of Da Vinci as a loose theme. 11 year old Sophie Colbourne who is between Chailey St Peters primary School and Chailey Secondary School has learned percussion with the “Redzebra Percussion Workshop” and will be drumming at the Saturday night performance.

Photographer

Neil Turner was born in Bournemouth, Dorset in 1964. He studied Advertising & Editorial Photography at The Medway College of Design in Rochester, Kent.
After working for Haymarket Publishing for four months he joined with two colleagues from college to form a small agency in 1987. After seven years with the agency and having worked for a very wide variety of newspapers and magazines Neil joined the staff at The Times Supplements, working on the Times Educational Supplement and The Times Higher Education Supplement. Neil is the owner and publisher of a photographer education website www.dg28.com and is also a Deputy Chairman of The British Press Photographers’ Association. In November 2006 Neil became Father of Chapel of the NUJ’s TSL Education Chapel.
