Born in New York City and trained there as a sculptor at the Arts Students’ League. Started photographing with borrowed camera in his mid twenties and immigrated to Britain in 1968 during the Vietnam war. He has lived in the UK since and is a British Citizen.
Larry stopped photographing in 1981 and began working for London Transport as a guard/train driver on the underground for five years during which time he was an active RMT (NUR) member. He moved to Sheffield in 1986 and worked as a welder/fetter in foundries and steel mills for seven years. He was an active member of Amicus (AEEU). He started photographing again in 1993 and returned permanently to London in 1999.
