Julie Howden has worked as a press photographer for three years after completing an NCTJ pre-entry photojournalism course at Norton College, Sheffield. Her first full time job was with Birmingham based press agency ‘News Team International’. Here she learned the basics of her craft and how the industry really works. At ‘Newsteam’ Julie was sent out on many exiting national stories but the highlights were covering the 4th Ashes Test 2005 at Trent Bridge, the Liverpool FC European Cup parade, and flying over the Solent on a helicopter during the Trafalgar 200 preparations. Julie’s pictures have appeared in a wide range of publications from the Guardian, Times, Daily Telegraph, Newsweek to the red tops. She now works in Edinburgh where she covers news, sport fashion and features for the ‘Evening News’.
