About the 2009 Exhibition

The 2009 NUJ “Photography Matters” Exhibition showcases the range and quality of photography being produced by the union’s members during the years 2007 and 2008.

In total, 229 images were submitted by 71 photographers. Through an anonymous selection process – by a panel which included the photographer members of the NUJ’s Photographers’ Sub-Committee, and NUJ General Secretary Jeremy Dear – a final selection of 50 images by 35 different photographers was made – giving a representative sample of the great contemporary photojournalism being produced by NUJ members working worldwide.

The selection panel would like to thank all those NUJ members who submitted their work – the quality was extremely high, and we only wish that we could have had space to show more work.

Our thanks to…
