NUJ Photography Matters

• Dave Miller, grave digger by Neil Turner

Dave Miller is a grave digger working for Bournemouth Borough Council. He has been with the service since he was sixteen and he is now forty-two years old. Photographed at Bournemouth Crematorium and North Cemetery at dusk. The interesting thing here is that my own parents ashes are interred in this cemetery and the graves of a dozen of my other close relatives are there too.

Neil Turner is a news and features photographer based in both London and Dorset with 23 years experience in the photography industry. He returned to freelancing in September 2008 after 14 years on the staff at The Times Educational Supplement where he was the NUJ Father of Chapel for nearly two years. Since 2000 he has been publishing a photo education website which has been viewed by around 2 million people.
