• Police assault on demonstrator by Peter Marshall

City of London police were overwhelmed by demonstrators in the ‘March on the City’ against bailing out the bankers on Oct 10 2008 and turned to strong-arm methods. This officer seemed to be applying pressure to a sensitive point on a demonstrator’s neck, causing considerable pain but having no restraining effect on the progress of the marchers pushing from behind.

After teaching for many years Peter Marshall became a full time writer and photographer in 1999, and for eight years he wrote a commercial web site on photography. As well as appearing in print, his photographs are in museum collections and on various web sites including his own ‘My London Diary’, and he contributes regularly to independent media websites.
