• Tibetan Demonstration in Janpath, New Dehli by Stuart Forster

This shows a Tibetan demonstrator during the Black Monday demonstrations on March 2008. The demonstrations were held at the Janpath, where Indian nationalists demostrated against British rule during the time of the Raj. The Tibetan demonstrators re-enacted scenes of alleged violence, which they accused Chinese authorities of carrying out in their homeland, despite it being the year of the Olympics. Fake blood was used but this sent out a strong message and was widely covered in the Indian media.

Stuart Forster is a photojournalist and features writer from Sunderland. He has spent much of the past decade based outside of the UK. Between 2004 and 2008 he was based in India.
