• Waged London by Larry Herman

Waged London is the working title of a still unfinished book I’ve been shooting for almost four years. The project is about Londoners who sell their labour by the hour and is based in the workplace. I also voice record people talking about their working lives.

It’s common for men and women to work long hours for the important but economically inadequate, minimum wage. Often, people work for considerably less than statutory pay. Millions of people who, through their low paid labour in health care, transport, leisure, tourism and all forms of production, underpin the entire London economy.

Larry Herman has had more than twenty one-person exhibitions and have participated in dozens of group shows in many countries. His work is published in books, magazines and newspapers and is in permanent museum archives and private collections around the world.
